I'm assuming since this is in the new release thread that it was around the time of the new release?

Servers are occasionally switched when there's server maintenance going on, or more especially when there's a problem with a particular server and accounts are moved to one that functions more efficiently

As you didn't voice an actual problem with the new server, I hope this answers your question in general terms.
