There seem to be a few similar things happening at once.
Last night I had trouble hiring a farmer friend to plow after she had harvested, and had to log out to try again.
When I came back, I too went to the gifts page rather than to my home farm, and then I got 14, 000 coins when I finally arrived.

All seemed to work Ok after that trio of oddities.

Had a pfew minutes so I made a pfast trip to your pfarms. Pfinally - someone with a pfair sense of humor.
