Stockpiling is the answer to most of the crop problems on here, people running out of thing and complaining about how the time to have them ready is too long. Most of them, as soon as they get something, run to the facilities and use it up, so they run out.
I let things sit for a day or two, just doing those which add to my stockpile of items so that when I do max out the facilities I don't run out of things. Cheese = 9000 Chocolate Liquor = 17000
