What is Manage on Ships I get at my Port?
Has anything else changed?


Who can I use on my Ships Logbook?

Nothing has changed, you still use any of your Neighbours that have their Port enabled.
If you don't see them to use and they are not already on your Logbook, then their Port is disabled.
You would need to find out if that was due to them not playing for a while perhaps when on vacation.

Who can send me Ships?

If your Port is Enabled, Anyone that has YOU as their Neighbour can send their ship.

What has changed is that you will now know if you don't have any connection with them within the game, meaning that you either do not have them as one of your Neighbours and they are not one of your Buddies.

This is likely to be:

• a friend you currently have on Facebook,
• or a friend that you had on Facebook at some point (possibly a forgotten friend, someone who stopped playing and now plays
• it's stranger that you allowed to add you as a buddy
• it's a stranger that you allowed to add you as on of their Neighbours with the new Add Neighbour method using the Avatar menu. (this method hasn't been added yet) To see what it's likely to be CLICK HERE
• or the more uncommon reason. It could be someone you forgot to go remove yourself as their Neighbour and Buddy before breaking the Facebook friend connection.

When this happens you will see Manage under their picture on the ship they sent to you.

As long as your Neighbour List or Buddy List is not already full. Manage will allow you to add that friend as a Neighbour or a Buddy.


To add them, click on Manage and the Manage Sender will open.
It will look similar to this, but your percentages are likely to be different.

These examples are the different brief notifications you could see when adding a farmer to a List depending on if your List has room to add them or is Full.

The reason this has been done is that if you currently have Facebook friends that you interact with frequently but they are not your Neighbours or Buddies, this will make it easier to interact with those farmers in the website.

We strongly recommend that you add those friends to your Neighbours or Buddies using the Farmtown Facebook app while it's still available,

If you don't do this and Facebook deactivate the Farmtown app, you will have to search for them manually in the website via email or user id, to be able to add them to your Neighbours or Buddies, this last part is still not completed

Register for the Website


All players that haven't logged in to the new website yet will start seeing a new 'Login Verification' screen inside the Facebook game:

1. When you load Farm Town on Facebook you will be seeing this window:
   
   
   
   
2. Click On:
   
   
   
3. The website will open in a new tab in your browser.
   
   If your browser does NOT automatically show you the tab that opens.
   Click on the tab that just opened, and you will see the Login window.
   
   In this example we have partially hidden the email address used and hidden the Password:
   
   
   
   It is important that you make no mistakes when entering your registration details! Take your time!
   
   
   
4. Click in the Email or USER ID line and type in the email address you used to register your Farm Town Account to the Slashkey website.
   This will determine if the email address did or did not match.
   
   
5. Then click in the Password line and type in the Password you used to register your Farm Town Account to the Slashkey website.
   This will determine if the Password did or did not match.
   
   
6. Then click on Login
   
   
   
   
7. IF BOTH the Email and the Password details MATCH your original registration details your game will load and you will see your farms.
   
   At the top LEFT you will see the Slashkey Logo.
   
   
   
   At the top RIGHT you will see your current Profile picture and the Logout Button for logging out of the Website.
   
   This picture shows you what of Hetty's farm looks like loaded on the Farmtown.com Website:
   
   
   
   
   
8. If your game has loaded in the Website:
   
   LOOK in the browser tab where your Facebook Game is loaded.
   
   In a few seconds the window saying Waiting for login confirmation from farmtown.com will change
   
   FROM this:
   
   
   
   To This: Showing that you successfully logged into Farmtown.com.
   
   
   
   
9. Click on Close in that window:
   
   
   
   It will close and you will then see:
   
   
   
   
10. Click on the green check mark to close that popup.
    
    You can now play on EITHER Facebook OR the Farmtown.com Website!
    
    You do NOT need to do the Instructions in the next post down called
    Re-Registering - Incorrect Email - Incorrect Password.

Those that had to re-register will have to verify their detail more times than those that did not have any issues and had verified 5 times.

IF either the email address or USER ID you typed in you doesn't match your registration details you will see
Incorrect Email or User ID OR Incorrect Password
in red text above the Login Button.

Re-Registering - Incorrect Email - Incorrect Password.

If your email is incorrect you can use these instructions to change your email address and also your Password for the website.
This means that you will be re-starting Registration again!
This method can ONLY be used while the game is still on Facebook!

IF your login details don't match what you registered with you will be seeing one of these messages in red text when you tried to login.



If ONLY your password is incorrect, you can click on the Forgot password link to just reset your password. To go to those instructions CLICK HERE

To Start Registration again, change your email and or password.

STEP 1: Close the Website and Load Farm Town on Facebook:

If you could not log into the Website you will be seeing this window in the Facebook version of Farm Town:




At the bottom of that box are 2 blue buttons:

You do not need to click on this one if you only think you made a mistake typing your login details in. You can try them again by clicking on the Login to Farmtown.com button instead:

Clicking on this one will load the login page for Farmtown.com so that you can try your previous login details again without re-registering which you may want to do if you think you may have made a typing mistake entering your original login details.

STEP 2: To Re-Register Click on:

You will then see the Registration window:

STEP 3:

In the Enter Email Address line, enter the email address that you want to use.

Please register your current email address which will give you more options in the future to log in should there be a problem with your log in details.
The email address does NOT have to be one you used for Facebook or the Forum.

Make sure you keep it active by using it!!!

This does NOT prevent you using your USER ID instead of an email address should you forget that email address in the future.

STEP 4:

In Create a New Password line, type in ANY password that you want to use.
Make it memorable, you need to remember what it is!

Remember this password does NOT change Passwords for anything else!
You are only creating a password for the Website which you will use with your email address to login.

If you like to see your password as you type it, click on the RED eye to turn it Black.



MAKE A NOTE OF THOSE 2 DETAILS AND KEEP THEM SOMEWHERE SAFE WHERE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO FIND THEM!!!!

STEP 5:

When you are SURE that you have entered your email address and password correctly, click on Register

STEP 6: You will then see another window asking you to try logging into the website again.

1. Click On:
   
   
   
   
2. The website will open in a new tab in your browser.
   
   If your browser does NOT automatically show you the tab that opens.
   Click on the tab that just opened, and you will see the Login window.

   IF AT THIS STAGE you see Incorrect Email or User ID or Incorrect Password.
   The details are not matching to what you just registered with.
   You may have made a slight mistake entering them in the Website or when you registered them on the Facebook game.
   
   • Delete the information on both boxes for your email and password and try typing them in again.
   • Then click Login.
   • If that does not work for you either, you will need to start Registration again in the Facebook game!
   • If you closed the Facebook game reload it on Facebook.
   • Then start from Step 1 in this post again.
   
   
   
   
6. IF BOTH the Email and the Password details MATCH your original registration details your game will load and you will see your farms.
   
   At the top LEFT you will see the Slashkey Logo.

How to use the Forgot Password Link.

Using the Forgot Password Link link sends an email to the email address you used to register for the Slaskey FarmTown Website.

You can NOT use this method if your email address is wrong or you have lost access to the read emails in it.

Emails and passwords have been hidden in the pictures in this post for security.

If you have lost access to the email address you used to register with you will need to start Registration again. If you need to change your email address CLICK HERE to go to different instructions. Changing your email address can only be done while Farm Town is still on Facebook!

As long as you can read the emails in email address you used to register with you can use these instructions to reset your password.

If you see Incorrect password. Try again or click Forgot password to reset it when you try to log into the Slashkey FarmTown Website....

The Forgot password? text in that window to the left of <--- NEW is a Link that can be clicked on to reset your password.

Example:

STEP 1. Click on the Forgot Password link to have a code sent to your email address so that you can change your Password for the website.

You will then see the help us find your account window.

STEP 2. In the Email and USER ID line, type in the email address that you used to register your Farm Town account to the website.

STEP 3. Then click on Continue

STEP 4. In the next window check that the email address is correct.

If your email address is incorrect you can click on Cancel to start over.

STEP 5. If your email address is correct click on Continue AGAIN!

The Continue button will change to a dimmed out Sending button:

STEP 6. You then need to check your emails and look for the email that you were just sent.

This is an example of what the email can look like.

The red arrows indicate where the code shows in the title line of your email and within the email when you open it.
The blue arrow indicates the clickable link within the email which is an alternative method that you can use to open the Website to enter the code, if you closed the Website.

On the website, this is what the enter security code window looks like.
It shows the email address the code was sent you and a box to enter the code in.

If you see Recovery link expired in the window, you have either opened an older email that has an old code in it or the link has expired. Look for the newest email with a code in or click on Start Over to reset the password again.

STEP 7. Type the CODE number you were sent in the email into the box.

In this example the code is 2206. Your code is likely to be different.
A new code is generated every time the Forgot Password link is used.
If you didn't receive an email with your code in, check your Spam/Junk folder of your emails in case the email went there instead of your inbox.
If you still don't find it you can click on the Didn't get a code? link which is just below the box where you would enter the code.

STEP 8. When you have entered your code, click on Continue

You will then see the Choose a new password window:

STEP 9. In the box enter your NEW password for the Slashkey FarmTown Website.

If you want to see the password as you type it add a check mark to the box for Show Password.
Choose a memorable password!!!
Make a note of it and keep it somewhere that you will find it again!

STEP 10. When you have entered your NEW password, click on Continue

You will then see that your password has been changed:

STEP 11. Click on Continue

You will then see the Login page for the Slashkey FarmTown Website.

STEP 12. Enter your email address OR Check that the email address is still entered correctly.


STEP 13. DELETE everything in the password line if anything is showing entered.

STEP 14. Enter your NEW password and when you are sure both details are correct click on Login.

If those details are correct your farm will load and you will be logged into the website.

NCC - What is Manage in the Thank You window for?

In The Neighbourhood Chains Contest (NCC) when you help someone place top 3 or you add a facility you can be sent Thanks which gives you some extra rewards to help with your facilities.

In that Thank You window under a farmers picture you may see Manage.

This this example we have removed profile pictures for privacy:

Blue Backgrounds are on those you already have on your Neighbour List, meaning those that you can see in your Neighbours bar at the bottom of your game screen.

Pink Backgrounds are on those you already have on your Buddy List. They are able to thank you as they have you as one of their Neighbours.

You will need to check what button is showing under each of the pictures and see if any of them have Manage showing up.
When Manage is showing up that means that you do not have them as one of your Neighbours OR one of your Buddies yet.


To add them as a Neighbour or Buddy, click on Manage
When you click on Manage, as long as you have room in either your neighbour List or your Buddy List you can add them as a Neighbour or Buddy.

This is what it can look like:

When you are able to add them as a Neighbour or Buddy, no permission is required their end to accept it, as at some point you had already given permission for them to have you as one of their Neighbours so there is already a connection on their side.

What is Manage in the Facility Chains for?

In 2 areas of the Facility Chains you can see Manage which allows you to add that farmer as a Neighbour or Buddy as long as you have not reached your Limits for those lists!

You can see Manage under a farmers picture in these 2 places:

• In the My Chains section when you check the products that can be imported from a Specific Chain.
  
  
  
  
• In the Trade Products Section where you can Import and Export much Faster to all Neighbours and where you can Import from Buddies.
  
  
  
  
  Remember:
  
  • You can Import AND Export to Neighbours.
    
    
  • Buddies can Export to you as they have you as one of their Neighbours,
    BUT you can NOT export to them until you add them as a Neighbour.
    
    Converting a Buddy to a Neighbour can be done from your Buddy List NOT from the Facility Chains! If you would like a reminder on how to that with the Buddy List CLICK HERE
