On a different note, the new animals are great fun. I unfroze them for a while. On Farm 11 I have a herd of sheep and a border collie; I set the sheep to eat and the dog to wag its tail.

When I went to Farm 1, the Clydesdale there was rearing up in the air.

I can't keep them unfrozen when I'm working on the farms, but it was entertaining. Well, it pleased me, anyhow.

I would not mind being able to irrigate only once per day if that day was a 20 hour farm town day.

Lets say I always irrigate every day at 8:00 but one day I am late. Then I am backed up on when to irrigate unless I skip a day. The 20 hours FT day allows some gap time for in real life things we all have going on.

My request is to change irrigation to once per day based on 20 hours.

Just my humble opinion of course.

Hopefully the devs will sort through this and make some sort of adjustments.

This is like making the 3x3, or 4x4 tools work 5x5 since we own the 5x5 tool.

They need to get it fixed, because now I sped up a crop that only had 1 hour left, that I didn't want to waste the speed up feature on!

Where are the Mods? Why are we not getting better information from them?!?!?

Mod = moderator, first. I would think that they are "moderating" the posts of the forum. And they have OFTEN advised posters to put the complaints and suggestions on the specific threads that the developers see and read.

IMHO, I don't give that much credit to a developer to be a jack-of-all-trades. They have produced a pretty good game - basically for free. They have added enhancements for $$ that players can choose to buy or not. They have displayed some funny shortcomings in the design of a number of buildings and animals (the scale, the appearance etc).

But over all, it seems like the biggest and loudest complaints are

1] Cost of optional equipment
2] Desire for more numerous, smaller, constant releases
3] The expectations that the volunteer mods "do more" when the "more" is never enough anyway

Now, on a personal note.... we have not had a release since LAST MONTH.... and my FT accounts each NEED a farm #12 !!!!

Agreed... It took me a couple of plantings to figure out what it could do for me.... and yes, the release had its usually shortcomings/confusion in its lack of detail.

For developers who can code a herd of Clydes to all be in perpetual motion, you would think that they could have better information, and some degree of communication for the ones who "employ them" -- the players.

i love, love, love the red sprinkler! oh and did i say i love the red sprinkler?

it is really so easy to manage your crops with it. everyone is worrying and fussing over messing up their time schedule, or griping because you cannot continuously plant 4 hr crops and get the benefit.

well, you just have to throw your old calculations out the window and begin anew and calculate the half time in with it to get the benefits of this sprinkler.

i spent a day planting the hr crops, i watered my flowers, cutting the harvest time in half, i planted 4 hr crops twice, and did not water them. i then planted an 8 hr crop, watered them, and harvested them in 4 hrs. then planted my 12 hr crops and they were ready yesterday morning.

i had my morning coffee while i harvested the crops, flowers still had a bit of time left on them.

i then spent the day, literally all day out running errands. get home, cook supper, spend a bit of time with the family.

ok, time to harvest flowers, water them. now they are set for 2 days. wow, i have harvested flowers 2 days sooner than i would have.

hmmm....now what to do with my crops? while i think on that, i get all my fishing and tree shaking done.

so, since i will be out and busy again tomorrow, i went for 2 day crops. got all farms with crops on them planted with 2 day crops and watered.

now when i have time tonight, i will sit and harvest them. the 20 or 24 hrs will be up, not sure which one at this point, but i know it will be 24 hrs since i watered them, because i know what time i planted last night.

so i will be pretty good on my stock for 4, 8, 12 and 2 day crops. tomorrow being saturday, i will get some 1 day crops, then i will work on the 3 and 4 day crops going into the beginning of next week.

i don't know about you guys, but in approx 1 week, i will have harvested more crops than i ever have in that time frame.

so......

i love, love, love the red sprinkler, it is the best tool the devs have come up with, the second best would have to be the ones that gives us the start all buttons.

I also feel that it is going to make it so much easier for XP to be gained unfairly. And before anyone says "well, what about the layering or stacking which gains XP unfairly," the Devs have known for a long time about this and have never stopped it. Please, please give us our old Sprinkler back. The next thing we'll be getting told is "Please use your harvested crops that are in Storage."
You're right in that the Devs do a fantastic job on here and its the most brilliant game. I am however failing to see what the big deal is about the so called "unfairly gaining XP points" really has any bearing on the game. As long as the Devs keep releasing new levels, which they always do, I dont really care how people on lower levels get their points. Its only a game at the end of the day for your own satisfaction. The simple fact is that alot of the higher level players are getting far more points through their facilities than they are through stacked or layered fields. Their only incentive is to get the crops for the facilities and xp points are not the driving factor, certainly not for me anyway. As this game is BETA its understandable that new players now are getting far more advantages than those of us that started when the game started and this doesnt bother me at all. Like you, I would love to see the two irrigators separated and have their own functions... who knows, maybe the devs might do this but either way, once we get to understand the full functions of the red irrigator, im sure we will see its brilliance!

did you try to harvest them?? earlier posts mentioned some retrograde behaviour of crops and the very first post(rauls) i believe says that they are working on this but the crops should be harvestable however no doubt the mods will know the precise answer but for now try to harvest the crops and all should be well

Was just about to have a big moan.
Went to a field of Potatoes that had been red sprinkled.
Field looked wasted, even though it said 13.5 hours to go before being wasted.
Could only get the harvest/plow tool to work (harvest only tool refused to harvest).
I checked the storage levels all through this harvesting/plowing process and the storage figure stayed at same reading, even when I finished farm, I then went to another farm then returned to this farm, checked levels again and IT DID INCREASE.

Yes there are bugs, but it does at least look like you do not loose your crops.
