Then - she didn't say thank you!!! Unfortunately the only thing she did quickly was leave before I could ignore her. I should have ignored her midstream and done it all myself, but I had promised her the work.

Vent, but realize that a fire button is still a bad idea I hate hiring from the market because of the slowness and difficulty of finding workers. I don't blame the workers, they could be new, disabled, or a slow computer that makes them slow. Just relax, breathe, cuss at them, then smile and move on

I go to sell in the mornings and I try to hide under the tent, but I still get a lot of hire requests. I don't disagree that it's hard to find people to work sometimes. Not sure why.

If you don't want to get hire requests while selling you can go offline while doing the selling. That's what I do as a result of seeing that suggestion somewhere on the forum.
I usually hide under the tent while hiring to try to avoid hire requests. It seems to work fairly well for that (hopefully) short period of time.

I've notice now with getting a percentage of the crops you harvest people in the MP are requesting certain crops (not just pineapples now) When I saw that the other night I wrote ' ready to harvest for someone ANY crop' I got three requests right away. There's been many times I've been hired and when I got to the farm I see someone had started then left. A few times it's been purple grapes. I thought woo hoo I need those crops for my facilities. Even if it's not a crop I can use I can always sell it.

I do think they will have to do something about "fishing". I was hired twiced today to fish. One person hired just me to do two sides of a 24x24 river-lined farm and a pond. Fishing is very tedious..Later someone else hire me and a bunch of other people to fish on about the same amount of real estate. A few minutes in, most people left, except me. After being there...ALONE for about 10-15 minutes, clicking away, the farmer hires about a half-dozen MORE people.

I haven't even attempted to hire anyone to fish on my farms yet.

I have to agree with Lupi.... i have tried a number of times to hire ppl from the markets and have had 3 out 5 leave because it was not high paying crops, such as pineapples. i have even stated at the very start what i have got to harvest and hired one person to harvest a lower level crop only for them to say " your don't have pineapples" and then leave..... hard to find anyone to harvest anything unless you have planted pineapples.... some very greedy people at times but then i have hired some very grateful employee ( normally lower level farmers ).

As to hiring my buddies most are in the USA so timing can be a bit harder since i am in Australia....

still think if there was a way of hiring neighbours or buddies while they are offline so that when they come online they have work ready for them.... harvest and plow..etc..

In any case, when I go into the MP to sell stuff, I either hide behind one of the stalls, or I go to a far corner of the screen, so that I do not give the impression that I am there for work. Perhaps I am just more thoughtful and considerate than others.

Why don't you simply take yourself off line and then go to the market place? That makes you invisible and there is only you and Tom in the market place with no offers to hire while you sell your produce. There is no need to hide.

No need to hide? Isn't that what you are doing when you go offline? Hiding from the hirers? Why should a person have to "hide" in order to get around a flaw in the game?

Yes it is hiding from the hirers so they don't waste time trying to hire someone that isn't interested in a job. I think it is a considerate way of dealing with it until they work out a better way of hiring and/or selling (which I have read they are working on).

I had no idea you could do that! Thanks so much for the advice, I can stop hiding behind the tent and in corners now
