Default Can I hire a farmer to work my farms?

Can I hire a farmer to work my farms?

Yes, in Farm Town along with farm work, there are several types of hiring that can be done.
You can hire anyone you see online in the game from most areas, your farms, another farmer farms, Job Marketplace and other areas of the game BUT there are benefits for hiring a stranger and for a farmer hired by a stranger when it comes to farm work.

A stranger is a farmer who does not have a connection to you as a Neighbour or as a Buddy.

A lot of farmers will go to the at the Job Marketplace when looking for work and when looking for workers to hire.

You must be online in the game to be able to see any farmers.

If you have been offline in the game for quite a while it is better to reload the game before hiring.
Hire for Farm Work: Common hiring options for workable items on your farms are:
  • Hire Multiple - use this option when you are hiring for more than one type of job.
For example: If you or your worker owns a combine and you want them to both harvest your crops and plow your fields using a combine, always us this option and make sure you select both Harvest Crops AND Hire to Plow in the job options you see. You could hire a farmer for all types or some types of jobs.

  • Hire to Harvest Trees - to only harvest your trees, does not include chopping trees.

  • Hire to Harvest Flowers - to only harvest your flowers.

  • Hire to Harvest Crops - If you only want your crops harvested and not do want your fields plowed by the same farmer after the crops have been harvested.

  • Hire to Plow - to only plow fields that have been Harvested or crops that have gone to waste.

  • Hire to Fish - to only have waters fished.

  • Hire to Chop - to only chop trees that can be chopped.

There is a time limit on how long a regular hire will last for. The hire will be disabled once 8 hours has passed since you hired them.

You can also:

  • Post Requests for Farming friends to Work your Facilities. Facilities can be worked by those that have a connection to you as a Neighbour or Buddy when you post a request to work your facilities.
You only need to Post one Request for Regular Facilities (Produce Faster). All your regular facilities can be worked from one request.

You only need to Post one Request for Service Facilities (Refer Clients). All your service facilities can be worked from one request.

There must be products in your facilities to be able to work them.

Some farmers have a lot of neighbours and buddies posting requests so they may only see requests that go back less than 8 hours ago. Those with far less farming friends can see much further back in time. You may want consider posting your Facility requests again later in the day especially if you like to refill them.

  • Super Neighbour Hire
You could set a Neighbour as a Super Neighbour and give them specific Hire permissions to do things like work your farms, perhaps help decorate a specific farm, perhaps manage your trains, without you needing to be online or present on any farm.

Super Neighbours are intended to be used for short periods like while you are away on vacation.

There is a limit on how many Super Neighbours you could have at any one time.

Please make sure that you are clear with any Super Neighbors on what it is you would like them to do if you want something specific done rather than everything.

Super Neighbours do NOT earn a bonus chest.

  • Hire to help decorate your farms. There are 2 types of hiring for this.
Both can only allow one farm at a time to be designed by another farmer.
Design this farm together requires the farm owner to be present on the same farm.
Permanently Hired for Design - for a Super Neighbour. Does not require the farm owner to be present on the farm.

Default How do I go to the Marketplace?

How do I go to the Marketplace?

You must be online in the game in either of the Markets when you want to hire, get hired or trade with farmers so that you can see other farmers and they can see you.

If you are not online in the game, instead of a green online icon (indicated in the picture below with an arrow) you will see a red version of the icon instead. If that icon is red you can click on it to turn it back to green and then you will be online OR you can just reload the game.

If you have been offline for quite some time it is better to reload the game before going to market.

Clicking on the MAP icon that is located bottom right of your game bar will show you several options.

Each of those options can be clicked on.

Some will take you to a different location, some will open a new window for specific features.

Job Marketplace is mainly for hiring and getting hired for farm work.
Trade Marketplace is mainly for selling and trading.
The Inn is just an area where farmers can meet up and chat.
The Bank opens up the Farm Cash Store where you can buy Farm Cash.
The Realtors is where you go when you want to upgrade on of your farms or to buy a new farm. When upgrading a farm make sure that you are on the farm you want to upgrade BEFORE you go to the Realtors.
The Fuel Station when clicked on automatically opens and calculates the amount of Fuel tanks you can refuel with at that time.

How to Hire Farmers to work your farms is in the next post down.

Selling Harvests and Gifts is explained in

How to Sell from Storage or your My Gifts section at The Trade Marketplace

Buying/Selling/Trading with Farmers is explained in Chapter 10 Buying/Selling/Trading

Default Hiring Farmers to Harvest Crops, Trees, Flowers, Fish and Chop your Trees.

Hiring Farmers to Harvest Crops, Trees, Flowers, Fish and Chop your Trees.

Hiring is mainly done from the Job Marketplace where most farmers will go when looking for work.
The Trade Marketplace is mainly used for selling and trading where farmers do not want to be hired to work while they do that. Although you can hire farmers from other areas of the game, there are additional benefits for hiring strangers from the marketplace which will be explained later.

There are several ways to hire a farmer, we are showing you some common methods:

Go to the Job Marketplace.
Click on the MAP Icon bottom right of your game bar.
Then click on the Job Marketplace to go to that Marketplace.

Farmers that want work at the Job Marketplace can change the background colour of their Avatar name to red. This indicates that they want to be hired. A visual aid to help you know which farmers want work.

Farmers with only a pink background colour on their Avatar name can NOT be hired at that time. They are also trying to hire a farmer.

There are other colours which have different meanings. They can also use more than one colour.

OPTION 1: If a farmer is chatting in the Chat window and they are still in that area, you can click on their Avatar name in the Chat window which will open their Avatar menu that you can use to hire them.
Example:

The different coloured names help you identify which farmer is speaking as there can be more than one farmer with the same avatar name.

OPTION 2: Click on the Avatar of the farmer you want to hire.
There will be a yellow outline when you mouseover a farmer which help you know which farmer you are going to click on if there are many farmers at market.

Clicking on the farmers Avatar opens their Avatar menu which you can use to hire them.

Whichever method you use to hire a farmer. You will then see the Avatar menu.
The first thing to check in the Avatar menu is if that farmer is your Neighbour or Buddy.

If they have a connection to you as a Neighbour or Buddy, you will see a blue or green label under the Avatar name telling you what that relationship is.

To earn an extra box for hiring a farmer, or for the farmer you are hiring to earn the bonus chest, you do not want to hire a farmer that has a connection to you as a neighbour or buddy.

Examples:

On the left Archie has no connection to the Farmer. The farmer hiring him would earn an extra box when Archie completes the jobs. Archie will earn a bonus chest when they complete the work on each farm.

In the middle Archie is a Buddy to the Farmer. No extra box or bonus chest will be earned for hiring Archie.

On the right Archie is a Neighbour to the Farmer. No extra box or bonus chest will be earned for hiring Archie.

Benefits of hiring Strangers and working for strangers are explained later.

When you click on a hire option, another menu will appear depending on which option you clicked.
  • Hire Multiple - Hire the farmer for more than 1 type of job opens a Hire Multiple window so you can select more than one type of job. For example harvest crops, plow your fields or more.

Click on box to Add a check mark in the box for each job that you want them to do.

All will add check marks to all hiring options.
None will remove the check marks for all options.

The grey or yellow tickets to the right of some of the options in the picture are to do with the Farm Pass Feature.

Remember to set your preferences for whether or not you will allow the hired farmer to use your Tools and or Fuel.

The options are in the Hire Multiple window below the All and None blue buttons.

Let Employee use my tools - the default setting is to allow the use of your tools. Remove the check mark if you do not want your tools to be used and it will remain deselected for that session ONLY. If you reload the game the check mark will be added again.

Use of your Fuel - Click the drop down arrow to view the options then click on the option you want.

If you do not allow the use of your fuel and the worker has none or runs out of their own to use they will not be able to complete the jobs you hired them for using the bigger tools. The only tools that do not require Fuel are the x1 and x2 tools.

To continue and hire the farmer, click on the green check mark at the bottom of the Hire Multiple window.
To cancel the request if you change your mind click on the red "X" to cancel the hiring process.

The single hire options like these, when clicked on, will not show you the Hire Multiple window, instead they will open a the Select Your Farms window showing your farms so you can select which farms you want them to work:

  • Hire to Harvest Trees - only hires them to harvest your trees.
  • Hire to Harvest Flowers - only hires them to harvest your flowers.
  • Hire to Harvest Crops - only hires them to harvest your crops.
  • Hire to Plow - only hires them to plow your fields.
  • Hire to Fish - only hires them to fish your waters.
  • Hire to Chop - only hires them to chop your trees

Farm Selection: is where you select which farms you want the farmer to work.
You will see the Select Your Farms window:
Any farms greyed out are your private farms. You can not hire anyone to work a private farm. In the example, the farm called Blossom Way is greyed out.
The green tint around a farm name indicates which of your farms you were on last.

Bottom left of the Farm Selection screen is another way for you to set your preferences for the use of your tools and fuel. In this example the farm owner has allowed their Fuel to be used first and the use of their tools that they own. Make sure that you also check the the Tools and Fuel options are correct for what you want to allow.

Click on a check box beside a farms name to Add a check mark for each farm you want the farmer you are hiring to work. To remove a check mark just click on the box again to remove it.

To send the Hire Request, click on the green check mark at the bottom of the window.
Clicking the red X instead of the green check cancels the request.

If you are not sure which of your farms have work on:
There is another option that you can use at the bottom right of the Select your Farms window called Show Work Info instead of hiring for all farms which can waste a farmers time making them visit every farm when there is no work on them.

Click on Show Work Info to see a window with all your farms, how many items are ready to work and the size of the farm.
Example:
The window will show you colurs representing each of the types fo farm work you chose to hire the farmer for. In the picture above the farmer has selected all types of jobs.
You can change this window to show a specific job if you wish, by clicking on each of the coloured initials in the Legend top left of the window.

The legend buttons at the top left will only consider the work types your are trying to hire for.

Example, if you didn't select fish as a work type for your worker, when you click the blue F for fishing, no farms will be colored blue even if you waters were ready to fish because you did not select that type of work for the famer to do inn the hire.

Clicking the different buttons in the legend will not alter the status of the farm checkboxes.

The key for this legend is as follows:

FP - Fields to Plow
SP - Seeds to be Planted
CH - Crops to Harvest
FH - Flowers to be Harvested
TH - Trees to Harvest
TC - Trees to Chop
F - Fishing
All - All jobs

When you have used the Show Work Info screen, to go back to showing the Farm Names you just click on Show Names and it will change to show the names of your farms.

Show User Info can be clicked on to see if anyone is working on one of your farms and which ones. You may want to use this if you already hired someone to work for you, you are not sure which farm they are on, and want to hire the next farmer for different farms.

The three blue circles at the top right tell you what the different circles on a farm mean:
Working, Connected OR Working, Disconnected OR Idle, Connected/Online.
Connected means they are Online in the game, Disconnected means they are offline in the game.

After you have sent the Hire Request:
The farmer you hired receives the hire offer, it tells them how many farms you have hired them for, which jobs and if you have allowed your tools and fuel. If you have allowed the use of your tools they will also be able to see what the biggest size tools you own are in the hire request.

Only one hire offer can be viewed by a farmer at a time.

They have 30 seconds to accept or decline the offer.
The avatar name label background color for the farmer you are trying to hire will change to Orange.
If the player rejects the request or if the request expires after 30 seconds, the color will change to Yellow and a denied confirmation will be sent back to the sender.
The nameplate colours can help to avoid sending several hire requests to the same farmers and to know which ones you have already asked that did not accept.

Examples:

Hire confirmation:

When the farmer you sent the hire request to, either accepts or declines your offer, you will get a hire confirmation.

The pictures below show the 2 possible confirmations that you could receive, the one on the left accepts the work offer and the one on the right would have declined the work offer.
If they accepted the work offer, the options in the message can be clicked om to do one of two things.
  • Clicking on Great, thanks. I'll go with you. takes you to the first farm that they will be working for you.

  • Or clicking on Great, thanks. I have a few errands to run. I will be there shortly. will close the message so you can stay where you if you wanted to look for work yourself or go somewhere else like a different one of your farms, a different area of the game, the other marketplace to buy/sell trade for example.

If the farmer you sent the hire request to has already left the marketplace when you send the hire request, you will see a message informing you:

The Hire Request will not be sent.
Clicking on the green check mark closes the message, then you can choose another farmer to hire.

If the farmer you intended to hire changed their avatar status to only wanting to hire (pink) while you were selecting your hire options you will see different message informing you:

Click on the No Problem in that message to close it, the request will not be sent, then chose another farmer to hire.

Example of the message you see if you try to hire a farmer with only the pink background colour on their Avatar name:

After you have hired a farmer, If you have at least 4 farms, it is also possible to send a hired worker that is still on your farms a message. We explain how to do this in the next post down, titled Sending a message to a worker after hiring.

Important Reminder:

If you want to earn the extra reward for hiring a stranger OR your worker wants to earn the Bonus Chest for working for a stranger you do not want to hire or be hired by a Neighbour or Buddy.

If you have a connection as a Neighbour or Buddy to the farmer that you hire, that will be indicated top right of the hire message like these examples:

Default Sending a message to a worker after hiring.

Sending a message to a worker after hiring.

To be able to send a message to a worker that is on one of your farms you will need to have at least 4 farms so you can use Show Work Info and then Show User Info.

When on your own farms you can click on the Farm Grid top LEFT of your farm, then click on SHOW NAMES

When the Go to Farm window opens, bottom right of that window click on Show User Info

When at market or on someone else's farms, you can also access your the Show Work Info for YOUR farms by clicking on the Home icon bottom right of your screen to see your farm grid.
Then click on SHOW FARMS

This picture is from the Job Marketplace, when you are on another farmers farms there are no extra round buttons above the home icon.

When the Go to Farm window opens, bottom right of that window click on Show User Info

If there is a farmer on your farms, you will be able to send them a message.

There is an envelope top right of the Go To Farms window you can click on.

If there are no farmers on your farms when you click on that envelope you will see a Brief notification that says There are no users in your farms

When there is a farmer on one of your farms and you click on the Envelope, you will see something like this, but they will be your workers on your farms.

In this example we have indicated the message envelope with a red arrow.

There is a worker showing Idle on farm 2 and a worker showing as working and online on farm 5:

When there is a farmer on one of your farms, clicking on the Message envelope shows you the Users window:
Tiger is offline and Idle on Farm 2. The farm owner can only send them an in game message. They will receive the message as they work or when they move to another farm.

Hetty and the farm owner are both online in the game and both are farm 5. In this case there are 2 message options. To send an in game message AND to send an online chat message to the chat box.

In this same Users window IF they are not a Neighbour or a Buddy you can also use the blue and green silhouette icons to send a Neighbour or a Buddy Request BUT please remember that to earn a reward for hiring and for a worker to earn the bonus chest they can not be a Neighbour or Buddy.

A dimmed icon means that they are on one of your lists.

If neither icon is dimmed like these:

Click on the Blue one to send a Request to add them as your Neighbour.
Click on the Green one to send a Request to add them as your Buddy.

Clicking on this icon lets you send an in game message to that farmer.

Clicking on this option lets you send a message that will show up in the chat box. Only use this 2nd option IF you are both going to be on the same farm long enough for you both to see the message in the chat box in your game bar.

Clicking on either of those options shows you a small message box that you can type in using your keyboard.

When you have finished typing your message, click on the green Send button to send it, or click on the red X to cancel.

Default What are the benefits of hiring somebody to work at your farm?

What are the benefits of hiring somebody to work at your farm?

Hiring others can also benefit those trying to level up, needing more products from farms when they don't have enough themselves, needing coins to expand or buy new farms, can help with farm pass goals and the regular quest employee lifeline.

Doing your Farm Work yourself:
  • You will have to use your own tools and Fuel.

  • Plowing costs you 20C per plot. Not the cheapest, but still cheap.

  • Harvesting crops, trees, flowers and chopping trees - You will get regular size, less value if selling.

  • Fishing - You will get regular size less value if selling, double fish if you also have bait, one bait per fish.

  • No reward for hiring a stranger.

  • Less jobs at Marketplace for those needing work.

Hiring Neighbours, Buddies, Super Neighbours to do your farm work:
  • Options to allow or not allow use of Tools and Fuel. This can be useful if you don't have big tools or a lot of fuel and your worker does have them and is willing to use theirs.

  • Plowing cost you 10c per plot - the cheapest cost.

  • Harvesting crops, trees, flowers, chopping trees - You will get large boxes per item instead of regular boxes.
Large boxes sell for more coins at market.

  • Fishing - You will get large boxes per item instead of regular boxes.
Large boxes sell for more coins at market.
Double fish if you also have bait, one bait per fish.

  • No extra reward for you, for hiring a stranger.

  • No Bonus Chest for your worker with extra rewards either.

  • Less jobs at Marketplace for those needing work.

Hiring a Stranger at the Job Marketplace to do your farm work:
  • Options to allow or not allow use of Tools and Fuel. This can be useful if you don't have big tools or a lot of fuel and your worker does have them and is willing to use theirs.

  • Plowing cost you 15c per plot - less than doing it yourself but not the cheapest.

  • Harvesting crops, trees, flowers and chopping trees - You will get large boxes per item for hiring, PLUS an extra regular box per item for hiring a stranger.
You get more boxes to use in your facilities or to sell for profit.
It does not matter when it comes to facilities which size box is used.
When selling if you don't want to sell all you could chose one size box to sell instead.

  • Fishing - You will get large boxes per item for hiring, PLUS an extra regular box per item for hiring a stranger.
You get more boxes to use in your facilities or to sell for profit.
It does not matter when it comes to facilities which size box is used.
When selling if you don't want to sell all you could chose one size box to sell instead.
Double fish if you also have bait, one bait per fish.

  • Benefits for your Workers as Strangers can claim a Bonus Chest as a reward for completing farm work.
Their extra reward for being hired by a stranger can contain extra products XP (experience points) and coins. This reward does not come from any of your farms or storage.
Workers that value the bonus chest reward are likely to complete all of the work on every farm to be able to claim it.

  • More jobs at Marketplace for those needing work.

  • If you are participating in the Farm Pass Feature you could get goals which require you to be hired by a stranger at the marketplace.

  • If you are short on farm space or farms, hiring a stranger has far more benefits for you.

To go to information on what a Super Neighbour is CLICK HERE

There are more types of work that are considered as "hiring", like help to work your facilities so your products can be done much quicker, designing and more, these are explained in the later posts in this chapter.

Default What do I earn for working farms for another farmer?

What do I earn for working farms for another farmer?

When you are hired to work on another farmers farm(s) you will get the following:
  • Crops: 25% of the selling price of the crop that you are harvesting PLUS 10% of the crop that you are harvesting.
NOTE: When you have the Employee Lifeline for a Regular Quest this means that when you work for other farmers you would need to harvest 10 of a crop for every 1 you need for your Quest.

Example 10 x Wheat are needed to make 1 flour. You would need to harvest 100 wheat when hired to complete the Wheat step in your Quest.

  • Trees, flowers and fishing: 100% of the selling price of the trees, flowers and fish PLUS 50% of what you harvest, chop or fish.

  • Plowing: When you plow on another farmers farms you earn 5 coins per plot AND 1 XP for each plot you plow.
If you are only hired to plow, the plots must be harvested or the crops must be wasted.
To be able to use a combine you would need to be hired to do both Harvesting Crops AND Plowing and you will need Fuel.
NOTE: To plow NEW plots, instead of plowing existing plots you would need design permissions for that farm and permission to use their coins as plowing new plots always costs the farm owner some coins.

  • Planting: You will only have the ability to plant for someone else when you are a Super Neighbour for a neighbour AND you have permission to plant for them.
In this case you earn 2XP per plot planted.
The cost of the Seeds you plant come from the farm owners coins.
If your Super Neighbour permissions allow you to harvest crops, plow and plant, and you use a Harvest-Plant Combine, you earn 3 XP per plot.
1 XP is for the plowing part, 2 XP is for the planting part.
    You will also need Fuel.

  • Bonus Chest: When you are hired by a stranger from the market place, you can earn a bonus from the Bonus Chest.

If you are hired by a farmer that has a connection to you as a Neighbour or Buddy you will not earn the Bonus Chest..

If you are participating in the Farm Pass feature you may need to be hired by a stranger depending on the type of goal you have to complete.

The work offer you receive will show either a blue indicator or a green indicator towards the top right of the request if a Neighbour or Buddy has hired you. When there is no indicator showing there is no connection and you are being offered work by a stranger.

The farmer that hires you will know if they are hiring one of their Neighbour or Buddies as they also see a similar indicator when clicking on an Avatar to hire.

    Examples:

When you are hired by a Stranger at the Job Marketplace the bonus chest will appear as you start working in the upper left corner of your game screen, just under where your coins, Farm Cash and Fuel amounts are located.

    Example:

To be able to collect from the Bonus Chest you must complete ALL of the work on that farm that you was hired to do.
When you click on the Bonus Chest to claim your reward for finishing all the work on a farm, your rewards consists of the same amount of coins and boxes you got for doing the job. You can also earn XP for harvesting flowers, trees, chopping and fishing.

    Example:

If you don't see anymore work and when you click on the Bonus Chest to claim it you see a message that there is more work to complete, you can try the following to see if there is something that is hidden or if something became ready to work while you were working:

    • Reload the current farm. In the Farm Selector Grid top left the farm you are on will have a yellow colour in the grid. Click on it to refresh that farm. Make sure that it is the current farm only, if you click on a different farm that will end the Bonus Chest on the farm you was working on.

    • Pick up a specific tool that the message says you have not completed yet. For example, the single harvest tool, the axe, the fishing rod, the single plow tool.
When you have picked up the tool check if you can see an EYE in the bottom right corner of the farm screen when you are using a tool, check if the EYE is red or black.
If it is Black click on the EYE to change it to red then everything not related to the the tool you are using at that time or is not ready to work with automatically be hidden for you.

Some causes of this can be from putting too many items on a farm causing a corruption, refreshing a farm can show items you could not see if something was placed in the exact same spot as another by mistake.

If there is more than one farm you need to work instead of claiming the bonus chest before you leave the farm, you can also just go to the next farm to work without clicking the bonus chest to claim it. In this case the bonus chest reward will automatically show with the either the bonus in it or it will tell you if there is more work to be done in order to collect.

There is a pop up warning you that you have not collected it and asks you to confirm if you want to do that.

Remember: The Bonus Chest can only be claimed if you are hired by a stranger in the Marketplace.
If you are hired by a Neighbour or Buddy you will not get a Bonus Chest.

Default How to know if Tools and Fuel are allowed by the Farmer hiring you.

How to know if Tools and Fuel are allowed by the Farmer hiring you.

There are several different options for the farm owner allowing or not allowing the use of their tools and fuel. The information you need, is in the Hire offer that is sent to you.

To know if you're going to be able to use the employers tools and/or fuel you will need to read the information in the hire request:

Example 1: None of the Farm Owners Tools or Fuel are allowed.
Left picture below, there is no mention of use of tools or fuel being allowed. It only lists the types of jobs and how many farms. If you click on Which of your tools can I use for this job? you will see the picture on the right tells you their tools are out of service.

You will need to use your own Tools and Fuel for this job.

Example 2: Farm Owners Tools are allowed but NOT the use of their Fuel.
Left picture below, red arrow indicates where you will see tools are allowed. If you click on Which of your tools can I use for this job? (left picture, red box) you would then see the picture on the Right, red box indicates where their their largest tools will be listed.

You can use their tools or your own tools, but you do not have use of their fuel.
You will be using your own fuel If you do not have much fuel you need to consider if you will be able to complete the work using your own. If you accept the work and run out of fuel, you will need to refuel or you will have to let the farm owner know so they can either allow the use of their fuel or if they can't, hire someone else who has some.

Example 3: Farm Owners Tools allowed, Fuel allowed LAST.
Left picture below, red arrow indicates where you will see if Fuel is used LAST.
You do not see how much Fuel they have.
If you click on Which of your tools can I use for this job? (left picture, red box) you would then see the picture on the Right, red box indicates where their their largest tools will be listed.

You can use their tools or your own tools.
You will be using your fuel first until you run out then you will be using the farm owners fuel if they have any.

Example 4: Their Tools allowed AND you will be using their fuel FIRST.
  • You can use your tools or theirs and will be using their Fuel FIRST

  • Important additional information:
If the farm owner runs out of fuel during the work, you will then need to use your own Fuel to complete the job.
This is the only time you can see approximately how much fuel the farm owner has.
Pay attention to the amount of Fuel showing in the box!

A figure with an M after it indicates Millions.
A figure with a B after it indicates Billions which is a far greater quantity.

In the picture below the farm owner has allowed the use of their Tools and their Fuel FIRST.
They have over 464 Million Fuel.

If you click on Which of your tools can I use for this job? (left picture, red box) you would then see the picture on the Right, red box indicates where their their largest tools will be listed. This farmer does not have all the largest size tools but these are still very large.

In the picture below the farm owner has allowed the use of their Tools and their Fuel FIRST.
If you click on Which of your tools can I use for this job? you would then see their their largest tools in the next message that shows.

They have over 18 Billion Fuel.
Red box indicates where the Fuel amount is shown.
Billions of Fuel which is far greater than Millions of Fuel.

Important Information for the Bonus Chest and Farm Pass Goals:
If you want to earn the bonus chest OR you need to earn a Farm Pass Goal that requires getting hired at market,
you do not want to be hired by a Neighbour or Buddy.

If you have a connection as a Neighbour or Buddy that will be indicated top right of the hire message like these examples:

Default What are the colours in the Farm Selector Grid for?

What are the colours in the Farm Selector Grid for?

You can see some different colours in the Farm Selector Grid when visiting a farmer, when hired to work farms or when you are a Super Neighbour for a Neighbour.

When you are hired to work on someone else's farm(s) and then start working, the farm selector top left of your game screen will be the employers farm selector grid and the colors in each box will also change according to what which farms you can work, which farms have no work or are already worked, which farms are fertilized or not, which farm you are currently on.

Example of a farm selector gird, this farmer has 24 farms:

The numbers in each box are the farm position of each farm.
The arrows to the left and right can be used to go tot he next farm or previous farm.
You will only see SHOW NAMES if the farm owner has at least 4 farms.

Farm 1 is not blue so is either already worked or you have not been hired to work it. It is a green colour as it is not Fertilised.

Farm 2 is also not blue so is either already worked or you have not been hired to work it. It is an olive green colour as it is Fertilised.

Farm 3 has a red dot on it. You would only see a red dot if you have design permissions for that specific farm.

The yellow on Farm 7 indicates which farm you are currently on. You can click on that yellow box to refresh the farm if you think there is more work that has not been completed without losing your Bonus Chest if you are hired by a stranger.

Farm 9 is blue as it has not been worked yet. You can go to this farm to check for work to complete.

If you need a reminder on why Farm Names background colours can be different as well as the colour of the name, please CLICK HERE to be taken to that post.

Default Can I return to finish a job hire?

Can I return to finish a job hire?
Yes if you are able to return to the job within 10 minutes!

Yes, If are able to return within 10 minutes, when you reload the game, you will see a hiring message explaining that you didn't complete your last job offering you the option to return to your previous employer farms and continue working.
Example of the message:

If you click on the red X you will cancel the request and stay where you are.

If you click on the green check mark you will see another message with the hire details.

To return to the job click on Sure. I am heading back to your farm and you will be taken back to their farms to finish the work.

There are two hiring scenarios:
  1. If you were hired by a stranger and can earn the bonus chest.
In this case if you click on the green check mark in the message you will return to the farm that you had not finished and will be able to continue working from there and then on to any more farms that needed doing and claim any bonus chest.

  2. If you were hired by a farmer who is a Neighbour or Buddy.
In this case if you click on the green check mark, you will NOT return you to the farm that you were last working.
You will be able to continue working on any remaining farms that still have work to do. If you happen to remember which farm you last worked for the farmer and know there know there was work still left to do on it we suggest that you send a message to the farm owner to let them know what has happened.
