First time since all the updates that I've had trouble bringing up FT. On the black opening screen the bar goes nearly full - but stops just shy and gives me this error

I'm on a brand new laptop that I've had for a week - and had no trouble getting into the game at all - today is the first issue. I've tried reloading the game and it gets to the same point - same error. Worked fine at 1am this morning. Now at noon - it's quitting on open.
UPDATED: After 3 restarts of the play screen - it did finally open. Took about 20 minutes.
