Question I inadvertently FORGOT to plant a crop on a farm...

I inadvertently FORGOT to plant a crop on a farm for a quest and have already watered and fertilized the farm. If I delete all the fields and replow then replant will I be able to water/fertilize?

So the game shows I've harvested "peas" on the quest screen, but when I click to produce the product the game says I have to produce "peas". Mods will probably tell me that I've done something wrong...
