Leaving the game

Unfortunately after a lot of thinking I have decided to delete my farmtown game as I am annoyed with facebook keep changing the goal posts with privacy and such like and I have been playing this game for many years now and have made a lot of friends
So at the end of this month I will not be playing anymore as I've seen people have had problems with linking their emails to the other game website which I have feel is a bit worrying

You only need a valid email address (I used my facebook email address) that you use regularly and a password, it can be any password you want.

you only need to use an email address and then a password and then in the coming weeks you can still play ft as it moves AWAY from Facebook control

Hi Joy of oz,
That only happened today as there was a problem that they fixed and then they reset the verification. Right now you only have to do this for a few days and then will not have to do it until we switch to the new web site.

I have registered 4 or 5 times already. Did any of them count? Because it keeps coming back.

Hi Gertrude's Dude Ranch,
You are verifying the registration. It will show up for 5 days after the original registration just to make sure. After that is done then you will not have to register any more.
Please read the instructions where it is all explained in the following linbk:

I have never had to register on a site more than one time.

Why will it continue to show up?

Gertrude's Dude Ranch Mar 09 2023 04:51 PM

And does it count any 5 times in a row? Because I refresh a page after I finish doing something. I have seen this screen 50 times? 50 times for the second one? About 20 times for the one that WARNS me?

Hi Gertrude,
Because that is the way the developers set it up. Please just continue until it is done.

Gertrude's Dude Ranch Mar 09 2023 04:56 PM

But then why does it continue to show up AFTER I already registered today?

Hi Gertrude,
You are not registering each day. You registered the first time and all the times afterwards are verifying the information. The pop up you are getting after you registered is the second one for verification. There is now also a way to give Farm Town access to your email you use in Facebook as an alternative method to log in in case you forget the primary method.

You can find all this information in the Game Guide Chapter 1:

I have registered and verified five times already.

It does not stop.

It is making me crazy. Like wanting to quit forever.

Hi Gertrude,
The registrations were reset once when there was an error discovered that was affecting some so it has continued on slightly longer. It should stop for you soon.

Giving permission of my friend list to send gifts

I don't see why Slashkey needs to have my friend list from my Facebook account. Most of my Facebook friends are family and friends who don't play Farm Town. Why do you need to see all my friends?

Hi chichibeck,
That has always been needed for you to interact with and have neighbors as they have to be Facebook friends with you. That does not have anything with the current registration as what they need is to be allowed to verify your email address you use for Facebook as the alternative login method for the stand alone web site.
Do not remove the friends list allowing or will affect your current playing of Farm Town through Facebook until the switch happens.

Taz D Mar 09 2023 06:37 PM

I am closing this thread because it has gotten off topic. If you wish to know information concerning the registration for the stand alone web site then please first read all the information in the announcement and the current release. If you need help with the registration please post in the Help & Support thread concerning the registration.

I don't get it!

The idea of moving farmtown of facebook was a great idea.
now the game is available on it's own I find it very confusing.
no longer having neighbors now must have friends or buddies.
there other things that I have seen that I just don't get.

After many many years of playing and massive amount of money invested
in this game I'm going continue playing via facebook until I can't. At that time I will no longer be able to play.

It's been fun.

Hi Keith,
The game in either location still have your neighbors. That has not changed. The game in the stand alone website has no way to have friends who play as you do in Facebook who are allowed to do some things to help with your farms. Those friends will need to become buddies instead to be able to continue the interaction between you and them.

That is the only difference between the Facebook version and the web site version. All other parts of the game will be implemented as quickly as they can.

This is not a move that the developers wanted to have to make, but is being forced by Facebook as they continue making demands on the developers that are unreasonable.
It is your own decision if you decide to quit, but that is not what the developers are wanting and trying to get the game capable of being played the same way you do on Facebook with as few changes as is necessary.
